Anyone between the age of 18-25 can apply if they have a heart for mission, youthwork, evangelism and using their gifts to serve God.


Absolutely – send us an email and one of our team will get back to you and arrange a time for you to come and have a short tour of our Leadership and Enterprise centre in Mowbray, meet the team and ask any questions you have. You are also welcome to come to any of our monthly prayer days.

We do not guarantee that anyone will get a job with The Message Trust after Message Academy finishes, but we are committed to helping you find the right way to outwork your gifts in ministry beyond the course. Sometimes that can mean working with The Message Trust, but many students go on to be a part of all kinds of ministry at the end of the course.

In term 1 & 2, The Message Academy runs from Monday – Thursday, with the occasional evening event, overnight retreat or weekend activity. Term 3 scheduling depends on available mission opportunities and potentially falls over weekends. You are free to get a part time job to support your time at The Message Trust, we value open communication so that you don’t miss out! All dates will be communicated throughout the year, as soon as they are confirmed. 


The Message Academy is run by a dedicated team of leaders who oversee all aspects of your year. Their primary focus is to give you the best possible time and see you flourish at The Message Trust so that your year with us has the potential to be the start of something amazing, not just a one-off experience. The Message Academy team will also appoint a personal mentor from one of our full time staff who help take care of you spiritually and keep you accountable whilst on the course.

Message Academy teaching is designed to develop your character and giftings as a youth worker and evangelist. We run several two hour sessions a week looking at various themes such as Bible Overview, Evangelism Techniques, Understanding the Gospel, Leadership, Mission and many more. You will also get specific tuition in the creative arts where you can grow in your giftings and discover new ones. We also run workshops which are discussion based, in areas such as Youth Work and Justice, plus on-the-job training as you get stuck in with placements. The Message Academy team  are committed to hosting a wide diversity of internal and external speakers and facilitators within the 10 month course.

The Message Academy doesn’t provide accommodation, you will need to source this yourself. The team can offer support and recommendations. This is not covered in your course fees.
